NATIONAL PARK OF UDAWALAWE
Lying on the border of Sabaragamuwa and Uwa provinces, Udawalawe National Park is a popular tourist destination, and the 3rd most visited national park in Sri Lanka. This national park was create to provide shelter for the wild animals displaced due to the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir. Lying on the boundaries of the country’s wet and dry zones, the landscape of Udawalawe is predominanty flat with a few mountainous areas. The area is an important environment for elephants and water birds.
