MESMERIZING THALPE

Situated on the south coast, Thalpe is a town located in the Galle district. Thalpe is famous for its beautifully stretched beach, which has natural pools. According to the villagers, the pools were cut out of corals about 50 years ago to soak coconut husks, in order to separate the coconut coir.
