COASTAL TOWN OF DICKWELLA

Dikwella is a small coastal town situated in the south coast of Sri Lanka. Located in the Matara district, Dikwella has an outstanding stretch of sandy beach protected by reefs, headlands and sand bars which makes it safe for swimming. Sri Lanka’s largest sitting Buddha is located in Dikwella. During the months May, June and July, perahara conducted to celebrate Vesak, Poson and Asala can be seen in Dikwella.
